As we begin a new year, we celebrate the milestones in 2012 and look forward to the opportunities 2013 will hold. This year, we continued to work with Second Harvest Food Bank of the Greater New Orleans Area through our See the Light, Feed the Hungry candle collection. For the holidays, we introduced a vintage red tumbler candle into the See The Light Collection, in our new fragrance Evergreen. Since launching the program in August 2011, we have helped feed nearly 40,000 people in the local area! 

Staying true to our love for New Orleans scents, we introduced a few new fragrances this year, French Quarter and White Gardenia. We also launched a ceramics candle line which features three sizes of reusable ceramic containers in some of our most popular fragrances. 

2012 contained many blessings and we are thankful for the continued support of those around us who believe in our mission to make a difference in our community. We are looking forward to continuing to grow in 2013 and can’t wait to see what exciting things the new year will hold! Happy New Year everyone!

All of you ghouls and goblins are probably getting prepared for a night of trick-or-treating or maybe you’re planning to do a little “monster mash-ing” of your own. So what are you to do with leftover Halloween candy and decor? We found these great tricks for re-inventing your treats!

Fill any size vase, hurricane glass, or glass bowl with candy corn and then place your favorite Fleur de Light fragrance in the center. This idea is also great for fresh or faux flowers and carries over perfectly into November fall decor!

Use your smaller halloween pumpkins as decor by carving out a hole large enough to fit a small candle. We think our Pumpkin Pie scent would be perfect for this! These would make a fabulous fall centerpiece on a dining room table.

Slide sliced fruit, large marshmallows and chopped candy bars onto skewers and serve as dessert.

A unifying sense of team spirit among all Americans develops and you find yourself chanting USA! USA! USA! With 12 days left of the games, there’s still plenty of time to enjoy Olympic-themed fun!

USA Candle Decor

Cheer on the USA Olympians with this this easy DIY candle decor. Place red, white and blue rubber bands from an office supply store around your favorite Fluer de Light fragrance and voila! The best part is you can change out the colored bands for other occasions and holidays! We are already on the look-out for purple, green and gold!

Red, White and Blue Sangria

A refreshing glass of sangria is the perfect summer beverage while showing your team spirit!

Ingredients:

• Strawberries, sliced
• Blueberries
• Pineapple, cut into star shapes
• 2 bottles dry white wine
• 1 cup Triple Sec
• 1/2 Cup berry-flavored vodka
• 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
• 1/2 cup simple syrup

Combine the ingredients in a large pitcher and stir. Chill in the refrigerator for at least four hours.

Golden Oreo Olympic Medals

These gold medals are yummy and so easy to make! Cut Fruit by the Foot strips in half and place the ends in the middle of the two Golden Oreo wafers. We bet these will be a “winner” with the kids!

Did you know that July is National Ice Cream month? Ronald Regan designated the month-long celebration in 1984 and recognized ice cream as a fun and nutritious food that is enjoyed by 90% of Americans. This may be our favorite holiday yet! We plan to celebrate with some seriously sweet scents in honor of a few of our favorite ice cream flavors.
